Israel and Hamas have been engaged in a conflict for the past 11 days. However, the impact of this ongoing strife in Gaza has begun to surface in Indian politics. Recently, NCP chief Sharad Pawar made a statement, deeming Prime Minister Modi’s support to Israel as “unfortunate,” emphasizing that India’s former Prime Ministers stood firmly with Palestine. Yet, PM Modi overlooked the real issue.

Following Sharad Pawar’s statement on Israel-Palestine, the BJP has opened a front against him. Initially, Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis targeted Pawar, and then Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned sending Sharad Pawar’s daughter, Supriya Sule, to Gaza. Fadnavis also referenced the Mumbai attacks, stating, “Mumbai has suffered greatly due to terrorist attacks. Particularly during 26/11, Mumbai lost many citizens.”
