After an initial setback, the Gaganyaan TV-D1 mission was successfully launched from Sriharikota on October 21. The Crew Module of the TV-D1 Test Flight, part of the ambitious Gaganyaan mission, safely landed in the Bay of Bengal. The mission was originally scheduled for liftoff at 8:00 AM but had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions. During the first launch attempt, engine ignition failed to proceed as expected.

Following the successful landing of the crew escape module in the Bay of Bengal, ISRO Chief S Somanath extended his congratulations to the dedicated team of scientists. The Gaganyaan project, at its core, aims to demonstrate India’s capability for human spaceflight by launching a crew of three members into an orbit approximately 400 kilometers above Earth’s surface.
